IPL: cop suspended for 'suspicious' movement

A police sub-inspector was suspended for his alleged "suspicious movement" near the cricketers' dressing rooms, which could be linked with match-fixing, at Holkar Stadium during the IPL match between Kochi Tuskers and Rajasthan Royals, police said.
PSI Sunil Yadav, posted in Shipra police station, was suspended for his suspected movement and behaviour in the restricted and prohibited area close to the players' dressing rooms last night, a senior police officer told PTI over phone, adding that the Indore Crime Branch has been asked to probe the case.
"The movements of the police officer looked suspicious and might be linked with match-fixing. He was spotted away from the place of his posting and found close to the players' rooms," he said.
"IPL Intelligence wing informed the top police authorities about him, after which he was taken out of the stadium and was suspended," the police officer added.
Meanwhile, three persons were arrested for allegedly black marketing the match tickets. However, police say no case of betting was reported in the city.
